The President's Pen
Kim Conley
GCTM President

It is funny how time can fly and stand still at the same time. Two years ago, GCTM was preparing for our first virtual conference. We have been virtual from that point in time until this summer, and oh did it feel good. Nothing changes a math teacher’s heart any better than being with other math teachers and let me tell you my heart was overflowing after attending our Summer Academies.

Our writers and facilitators did an outstanding job helping our fellow educators gain a deeper understanding of the new standards and strategies/tasks to support them. So if you missed out, you need to make plans to attend the Georgia Mathematics Conference AT Rock Eagle in October. I can almost feel the slight chill and hear the buzz of math conversations in the air, and yes, I am giddy just thinking about it. So go, start pestering your administrators to find the money to send you to “The Rock.” You will not be disappointed. It will charge your batteries and 2022-2023 will be the best school year yet. All of the information you need is at www.gctm.org  Check it out!

In closing, I would like to thank you for allowing me to serve the past two years as your president. I pray that you find as much joy and support in being a member of GCTM as I have. It is a wonderful organization with some of the most genuine people that you could hope to have in your corner. I feel truly blessed. Thank you again!
