General Information

Registration

Each person attending the conference, including all speakers, must be registered. The registration fee for the lead speaker of a session is waived, but all co-presenters each must pay the registration fee. For information on how to make payments, please see the registration page.

On-site registration will be available, but pre-registration & pre-payment is STRONGLY advised to avoid standing in line!

Online pre-registration should be available for individuals at www.gctm.org August 1st to October 1st. Please visit the registration page for more information.

Meals

Meal reservations must be made during pre-registration. It is not possible to purchase cafeteria meals on site.

Breakfast is $13

Lunch is $15

Dinner is $23

Please note that while commercial food establishments are not located close to the conference site, there is a cash/credit card grill available in the courtyard for lunch.

Lodging

Lodging reservations for the Rock Eagle cabins can be made during pre-registration. Lodging assignments will be made by gender upon arrival at the reservation desk in the registration area. Cabin assignments are made first come first served. Groups wishing to share cabins must come together to the reservation desk. The lodging fee is $50 per person, per night and includes linens, towels, soap, and blanket. Checkout time is 10:00 AM.

Numerous overnight accommodations are located within 12-15 miles of Rock Eagle. Individuals must handle their own accommodations off the Rock Eagle campus.

Technology

Please bring any iPhones, tablets, computers, etc. that you want!

Speakers wishing to use a projector should know you'll be using a HDMI connector (so bring a dongle if you need it).

Free Wi-Fi will be available in (or immediately near) the cafeteria this year. Beyond that, the availability of a cell phone signal at Rock Eagle has greatly improved over what it has been in the past — thus providing another option for getting "connected".

You can follow this year's conference on Twitter @gctm_math, and — if you wish — feel free to join the conversation on the conference by including the hashtag #GCTM2023 in your tweets and Facebook posts.

First Time Attendees

If this is your first-time attending GMC, please consider joining us in International Paper 2 on Thursday Morning at 9:45am for the First Time Participants session.  There will be a drawing for next year's registration at this session, but you must be present to win!

Miscellaneous

For driving directions to and information about the Rock Eagle 4-H Center, please see www.rockeagle4h.org.

Due to Rock Eagle's location adjacent to Oconee National Forest, if you're planning on using a ride-sharing service, please make sure your driver is willing to provide transportation to and from the conference.

There is no ATM and there are no pay phones at the conference center. Cell phones can still have some sporadic signal availability depending on where you are — although this have improved somewhat over the past couple of years. In the event of an emergency between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, call 706-484-2800. From 6:00 PM until 8:00 AM, call the guardhouse at 706-484-2821. Leave a complete message if the guard is away on rounds.

There is no childcare at the conference. Please do not bring children.

Attire for the conference is very casual (jeans, etc.). Be sure to wear very comfortable walking shoes! It is also suggested that you bring a jacket and umbrella for cool or rainy weather.

We look forward to seeing you at Rock Eagle!
