Teachers and leaders are invited to participate in a series of virtual professional learning opportunities centering around Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards. MathCON 2022 will take place July 19-21. This virtual conference will provide an opportunity for mathematics educators and leaders to discuss Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards, engage in purposeful work to plan for the implementation of the standards in Fall 2023, and network with other teachers and leaders from across the state.
Daily, grade-level/course specific sessions will be focused on Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards, Mathematical Modeling and Statistical Reasoning, and Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning with Mathematics. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to:
- Attend keynotes from renowned mathematics educators (TBA).
- Engage in brief “Burst” Sessions to learn about new resources incorporating technology, engage in a problem-solving activity, build your strategies to support all students, learn about computer science, narrow your focus on teaching conceptually and much more
- Experience an on-line exhibit hall.
- Take time to reflect on your learning.
- Visit the MathCON Game Room to challenge yourself and/or a friend!
- Network with others from every part of Georgia!
- Add mathematics teaching strategies to your toolbox as you learn more about the 8 Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices.
