As teachers, we are frequently asked to be flexible. We adjust our plans to accommodate field trips, pep rallies, fire drills, power outages, and, yes, a worldwide pandemic. Likewise, our teacher organizations must also be flexible. Prior to this school year, GCTM had already decided to hold a virtual conference this year, during our typical third weekend in October, with the hope of high levels of teacher engagement during the day and evening sessions. However, as this school year has progressed, we recognize the scarcity of substitute teachers available to enable our membership to attend day sessions on Friday. And who is GCTM without its classroom teachers?
