The Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (GCTM) will host "Math Day at the Capitol" on Monday, March 2, 2020. The event will provide an opportunity for legislators to hear the importance of a quality mathematics education and to meet math educators. The purpose of the day is to communicate with legislators the necessity of having quality mathematics education in order to support the development of mathematical literacy and proficiency required for success in careers and in competition in a global economy. Georgia’s economic growth will be enhanced by the preparedness of its students, particularly in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) areas.

A breakfast for the state legislators will be provided from 8:00-10:00 AM in room 220 of the State Capitol Building. If you are interested in attending this event, please let us know by emailing advocacy@gctm.org.
