Atlanta Public Schools  Atlanta Public Schools has created extensive resources to accompany the GPS.

 Comcast:
Through a nationwide cooperation with the FCC, Comcast Cable has worked a deal for all students who are FREE lunch status to be eligible for a $10/month Internet connection at home and a provision to purchase a $150 + taxes netbook. There are a couple of eligibility provisions so please check outhttp://www.internetessentials.com for all details. Comcast serves a very large portion of Georgia.
 Flinn Scientific:
Flinn Scientific is one of our long standing business partners and resellers. Flinn is now offering  a free resource for high school and middle school science teachers in classroom and laboratory safety via safety seminars, safety workshops, and safety related email. You can now become “Flinn Certified” in high school or middle school laboratory safety. Please visithttp://labsafety.flinnsci.com/Home.aspx for all details!
 Clorox:
Clorox is now seeking nominations for a chance to win a $50,000 grand-prize grant or one of four $25,000 grants to help provide resources to school programs that give kids the opportunity to grow and transform. This is an opportunity for all areas and all activities, from academic to extracurricular.  Of the 4 winners last year, 2 were in NC and one in FL. Let’s try to get one or more in AL and GA! Please visit www.clorox.com or www.powerabrightfuture.com for all details and how to enter.
 TI Nspire Operating System:
If you have a TI Nspire make sure you get the most current release of the OS version 3.0. Some of the new features include 3D Graphing, being able to import any image or picture, and the Vernier Data Quest APP for data collection. This is the same interface for data collection found on the Vernier Lab Quest and its now on the handheld. The probes connect directly into the Nspire via the USB port, eliminating the added cost of an external box. Imagine, one calculator for math and science class, and your students can bring it with them for their ACT, SAT, and AP exams! All details and instructions for the download are available at http://education.ti.com/calculators/products/US/os-update/.
 Atlanta Braves:
The Braves are once again in a crucial home stand this weekend. If you would like to attend the game on Sunday 9/4/11 I have 4 tickets for you that also include access to the 755 Club where you have better menu choices and air conditioning. Please be the first to reply to me and let me know the name of the current president of either ASTA or GSTA.
 Double Tech Reward Points:
For a limited time, recommend TI-Nspire handhelds on your syllabus or supply list and redeem Tech Rewards Points (TRPs) from student-purchased TI-Nspire handheld retail packages for double the point value. Now your 50 point symbols will be worth 100 Tech Rewards Points each! Those points can add up fast so you can redeem them for lots of goodies.
